WHAT IS REMEDIAL MASSAGE THERAPY?

Remedial massage can help manage chronic pain and injuries and often compliments other treatments as part of a larger treatment plan for injury management.

Remedial massage uses techniques such as trigger point therapy, joint mobilisation, stretching and myofascial release to treat the muscles, tissues and tendons in the body and provide relaxation or relief to sore, painful or tight muscles.

Remedial massage is beneficial for:

Circulatory and Lymphatic Systems – increases blood flow to the tissues and stimulates the circulatory system which can lead to reduced pain and swelling.

Muscular system- Relaxes and stretches tight muscles, promotes relief from overuse due to an active lifestyle or physically intensive job, can minimise cramping and help improve overall muscle health.

Endocrine/Hormonal- Remedial massage can also reduce cortisol levels which increase during pain or stress.
Joints-Relieving tension in the surrounding muscles can improve joint mobility, strength and stability.

Remedial massage assists in:

• Improving circulation
• Relieving pain from tight, strained or painful muscles
• Improve flexibility
• Improve muscle recovery
• Improve energy levels
